Security Master AV is a part of a huge Rogue.VirusDoctor family of fake antivirus programs. It was first detected back in 2010, and this family is a constantly growing mass of rogues that include such names as Windows Virtual Security, Windows Active Defender, Windows Risk Minimizer and many more. Security Master AV is commonly distributed by Trojans that appear to be official updates for various programs, but in fact they only install malicious software applications.

It is important to understand that the full system scan performed by Security Master AV and its results are not real. Even though it says that your security alert level is critical and that you are infected with such threats as Trojan-PSW.Win32.Fantast, Trojan-PSW.Win32.Delf.d or Trojan-Spy.HTML.Sunfraud.a, none of it is true, as these are just blatant lies devised by cyber criminals to trick you into purchasing a full copy of Security Master AV. The scan results are usually accompanied by these fake security notifications:

System alert

This is horrible. I used to have AV on my computer but I removed it about a week after because there was no use for it. I'm glad I did too, because if I'd have left it longer it probably would of infected my computer. Seriously, this is really really bad and they should get shut down. Isn't it illegal or something?

If Security Master AV can be purchased ($69.95 for 1 year) then there has to be some way to trace where your money is going - your credit card company for example. If the identity of this fraud firm can be determined, why can't they be prosecuted and shut down? Let's not be cowering wimps who "forgive" once a rogue virus is eliminated.
