Facebook Antivirus (FacebookAntivirus) is the latest fake antivirus application. Facebook Antivirus attempts to trick unsuspecting users into purchasing its "full version". The thing about this is – that the full version of Facebook Antivirus is in fact useless – and all tactics employed by Facebook Antivirus, to ensure a sale – is dubious and misleading. Facebook Antivirus is incapable of assisting a computer system in any way – all Facebook Antivirus is good for is further damage to the computer system it has infiltrated. A common tactic employed by these type rogue applications, and Facebook Antivirus is no exception is the fact that Facebook Antivirus will display a bogus system scans complete with fake system scan results.

It seems that Facebook Antivirus makes use of a fake video codex to enter into a system, via the use of Trojan infections. Facebook Antivirus can also be attached to seemingly harmless e-mail attachments, or may even be piggybacked to P2P downloads. It is highly recommended to remove Facebook Antivirus as soon as possible.
