CyberSitterCyberSitter (CyberSitter version 10.0, Cyber Sitter) is a new imposter antispyware solution application, which contrary to what its makers would have you believe, was solely designed to ensure money is extorted from unsuspecting computer users. How do they do this you may ask? Well, CyberSitter is distributed via a Trojan, which displays rather annoying pop-ups messages. Once the user opens up a pop-up message, they are then asked to install CyberSitter, which they claim to be an extremely effective antispyware program. Following a quick system scan, CyberSitter will then display results of the computer scan, which will definitely include a result alluding to hundreds of system infections; CyberSitter may even mark good files on the system as infections. Upon purchase of the full version of CyberSitter – the notification messages will no longer appear, seemingly having left your computer in a better condition, when in actuality there never was a problem with the system to begin with. It is advised that users remove CyberSitter as soon as it has been detected. |
