System RepairSystem Repair is a fake system optimization tool. It is a direct clone of System Restore, System Recovery and other similar rogues from the same line of computer threats. The newest rogue does not differ much from its forerunners. It pretends to be a part of Windows package and even copies the operating system’s logo onto its interface. System Repair’s task is to make you think that there are critical errors in your computer and you need to activate the Advanced Module to fix those errors reported by System Repair. There are many ways for this rogue to enter your system. This rogue has a wide distribution system and it can arrive at your computer via fake online malware scanners or through spam email. You can encounter fake online malware scanners basically anywhere on the internet. When you browse a website, which has a lot of flashy buttons blinking and telling you that you need to check your computer for possible infections – that is the first sign that you are encountering fishy software on the loose. If you click on any of these buttons you end up downloading System Repair. This rogue does not need your consent to install itself in your system. System Repair will add up an entry in your Windows registry, allowing it to load automatically whenever you boot up your computer. Once System Repair jumps into action it presents you a “PC Performance & Stability analysis report”. The fake reports shows you a lot of errors which actually not exist in your computer, but it can sure scare you, because it tells about Drive C initializing error, or critical errors in your hard drive. The problem is that if these errors were real you would not be able to boot your computer at all. Everything that System Repair is telling you is an obvious lie, so you should never click that “Activate Advanced Module” button at the bottom right corner of the rogue’s interface. You should remove System Repair from your computer as soon as you can. If you cannot do it manually, you can always acquire a reliable computer security program which will intercept and delete System Repair automatically for you. Keep your computer clean and your money safe! |
