Windows Process Regulator

It is almost unbelievable, but here it is, the newest clone from the huge rogue system optimization applications family - Windows Process Regulator. It is designed as another rogue from the Fake Microsoft Security Essentials fraud. Windows Process Regulator does not regulate your Windows processes. The only thing it wants to regulate is your bank account, because rogues are created to rip you and any other unsuspecting consumer off. The other notorious clones from the same family include Windows Lowlevel Solution, Windows Defence Center, Windows Efficiency Magnifier and many more.

Windows Process Regulator can and is distributed through fake online malware scanners. That is one of the most popular ways for the rogues to spread. It is also very hard to tell when exactly you get infected by this threat, so you always need to be on the edge with things. In fact, in order to check whether you are infected right now, you are strongly recommended to download the suggested malware scanner and see it for yourself.

1. Reboot your computer and wait for it to load until you see the rogue's application show up on your screen. Now click the "OK" button to make it go away.
2. Windows Process Regulator will start a fake system scan now. Wait for it to finish and when another notification pops up, click "OK" again.
3. Now close the notification by clicking on the red "X" at the right top of it.
4. It should disappear and you will have your desktop back.

Blocking your access to your desktop is not the only symptom of Windows Process Regulator's infection. Just as any other rogue, this one also performs a fake system scan, and during the scan you can see the actual names of Windows directories appear below the scan bar, but that does not mean that the "scan" is real. Windows Process Regulator does not have the ability to check your computer, nor can it protect it from serious threats. Therefore, you need to pay no attention whatsoever to these and other messages received from the rogue:
