Hard Drive DiagnosticHard Drive Diagnostic is a malicious rogue system defragmenter which hails from the same destructive family such as Ultra Defragger, Win HDD, HDD Scan and HDD Control. These rogue defragmenters all share the same characteristics – with their aim being to fool honest consumers out of their money while offering them nothing of value in return. Hard Drive Diagnostic will do everything in its power to gain the trust of the user. It will do this by informing the user of various damaging and debilitating errors being present on his PC. After reporting on these errors, Hard Drive Diagnostic will inform the user that the only way to fix these purported errors will be to pay for a licensed version of Hard Drive Diagnostic. In reality, though, there aren’t any errors, and Hard Drive Diagnostic is unable to detect, quarantine or fix or remove any errors from a system. It is all part of its attack on the PC owner’s system in an effort to extort money out of him. Shortly after the Hard Drive Diagnostic infection roots itself on the PC, the user will receive various fake security notifications informing him of these supposed critical errors. Some of the more notorious notifications read as follows: “Critical Error! “The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required.” Users are urged never to believe any correspondence received from this malicious application, and should get rid of Hard Drive Diagnostic at the earliest opportunity. It is always advisable to invest in a security application which is able to permanently obliterate Hard Drive Diagnostic and similar future threats. |
