Windows DefencePC owners find themselves in a time where online security is under constant attack. When presented with the expense of having to invest in PC security software, it might be easy to dismiss it as unnecessary and opt for the free security applications available online. The problem with that is that you expose your system to numerous security threats which exploits system vulnerabilities, as is the case with Windows Defence. This rogue is one in a long list of online threats that has been making the rounds in the recent past. It’s spread by fake video codecs, infected documents and PDF files and various other system vulnerabilities. Systems running with outdated and un updated Windows operating systems are also at risk of falling prey to the Windows Defence rogue as it may very well exploit the DLL and shortcut vulnerabilities as a base of attack against the system. This is great cause of concern for systems suspected of being infected with this rogue, and every measure should be taken to remove Windows Defence without delay. As with most rogue antispyware, Windows Defence’s one aim is to trick users into buying its worthless software. They will go about doing this in a variety of dubious ways such as to try and convince the user that his PC is already compromised by serious infections. Windows Defence will spam the user with fake security message pop ups stating that devastating infections are running rampant on the system. No stock should be placed in these bogus messages, as they are only used as scare tactics to panic inexperienced users. A typical false security message of Windows Defence will read as follows: “System Alert! Your computer is infected! It will go on to perform an unsolicited system scan, which will produce fake results of non-existing infected files. You will only be able to get rid of these fake infections by handing over your credit card details and purchasing Windows Defence’s full version software. Or that’s what they would like you to believe. Users should delete Windows Defence the moment it is discovered on their systems by employing the effectiveness of reliable antispyware software. In a time of increased online safety awareness, criminal developers of malicious software will stop at nothing to further exploit the online security market further in an effort to cash in at the expense of PC users everywhere. |
